Alterations to the roofs of residential properties, or complete demolition work require bat surveys prior to the start of work on site.
Surveys must be carried out to recognised guidelines by properly experienced surveyors, or the council can ask for them to be done again.
Bat scoping survey in Hale, Cheshire
UES have completed a bat scoping survey of a residential property in Hale, Cheshire.
The property is in a poor state of repair and our client has plans to demolish the property and re-build on the same plot. Bat surveys were commissioned to ensure that no bats are presently using the structure of the building, and to assess whether bats had used the structure as a bat roost previously. Our client had already commissioned a bat survey from another consultancy, however the report was not up to standard and the council insisted on further bat survey work before the demolition.
