UES were commissioned by Lidl in February 2015 to undertake a bat scoping survey of a store in Holyhead, Anglesey in order to support a planning application to extend the store.
Bat scoping surveys can be undertaken any time of year, and include an internal and external building inspection to check for habitat features and field signs which are associated with bats.
The building was found to be of low suitability for use by roosting bats and as a result of the poor quality of the immediate surrounding habitat and highly disturbed, well-lit nature of the site no further surveys were recommended.
UES have since completed another bat scoping survey for Lidl in Porthmadog, Gwynedd.
